Can a bus driver change a stop location or add a new stop to the bus route?
As outlined in Procedure TCP- A002 Home to School Transportation, school bus drivers are Not to authorize or approve alternate bus arrangements for any student under any circumstance.

How do I know if my student is bus eligible for transportation to and from school?
Your student is bus eligible to and from your residence if your residence is within your schools’ boundaries and located 1.6km or greater from your school’s location. Please note that all measurements are based on the Consortium’s routing software, not Google Maps, Apple Maps, or any other mapping source.

How do I set up bussing for my student who requires specialized transportation?
If your student requires specialized transportation you must start the process at the school. The school administration will assess your students’ needs for transportation and act accordingly.
If my child is having trouble with other students on the bus, who should I contact?
The school bus is an extension of the classroom. Procedure TCP-B005 outlines the code of conduct on the school bus.
Students who are granted the privilege of travelling to and from school by school bus must behave in a safe and appropriate manner while they are aboard the vehicle. Those who behave in an unsafe or inappropriate manner will lose this privilege.
The Code of Conduct sets the expectations of safe and appropriate behaviour. Students are accountable to the school principal for their behaviour while on the school bus and must obey the instructions of the bus driver, who represents the school principal. Inappropriate behaviour will be recorded on the appropriate form (Misconduct or Safe Schools) by the driver or bus operator and forwarded to the principal. The principal has the responsibility of investigating the behaviour and notifying both the bus operator and STSCGB of the outcome of the investigation.

If I have a safety concern about my child 's bus driver, who do I contact?
Please reach out to your school bus provider to detail your concerns regarding their driver. Your school bus provider employs the school bus driver and will be able to assist you with your concerns. Should you feel after this, that the concern needs to be escalated, please reach out to us at 226-257-1000.

What should I do if my child does not get off the bus in the afternoon?
If you are expecting your students at their scheduled bus stop and they do not arrive, please report directly to your school’s administration and school bus provider immediately. Student safety is priority, by contacting your school immediately and school bus provider this will trigger protocol to ensure all efforts are made to locate your student.

Who is responsible for my child on the way to and from the bus stop?
As outlined in Procedure TCP- A002 Home to School Transportation, parents/ guardians must be responsible for their child’s safety and behaviour up until he/she boards the bus and when he/she is dropped off at the designated bus stop.
